UK Comedy Star Lee Evans Performs in NYC, May 19-June 3

Lee Evans, the UK comedy star and actor, will play New York this spring from May 19-June 3 at 37 Arts Theatre, 450 West 37th St. 

 

Evans received an Olivier Award nomination for his performance as Leo Bloom in the London production of The Producers opposite Nathan Lane , and was also seen on London stages in Beckett's Endgame. He is best known in the US for his roles in the Farrelly Brothers' There's Something About Mary, the cult hit Funny Bones, and Mouse Hunt opposite Lane, and has also appeared in The Fifth Element. As a stand up, Evans sold out the London Palladium for two nights, London's Lyric Theatre for ten weeks and played to over 300,000 people on his last tour culminating in six sold out nights at Wembley Arena in December 2005. His DVD "Lee Evans XL Tour 2005 Live" went to Number 1 selling over one million copies in the UK. BBC America will air "Lee Evans: XL Stand-Up Special," a 90 minute U.S. premiere special ,on May 13, 8:00p.m. ET/9:00 ET.


The evening will be presented by WestBeth Entertainment, BBC America Comedy Live, Just the Laughs and Off The Kerb Productions.

 

The playing schedule is Tuesday – Saturday at 8:30pm. Tickets, which go on sale April 17th, are $31.25 weekdays/ $36.25 weekends. Premium Seats are $51.25 weekdays/$56.25 weekends.
