Town Stages Announces BAE: UPRISING 2018 POST-MARCH ACTIVATION

Town Stages announces BAE: UPRISING, 2018 post-march activation, NYC, presented by the Collective BAE in support of the Women's March Alliance at Town Stages, 221 West Broadway, NYC on Saturday, January 20, 2018, with sessions beginning at 3pm and 7pm. RSVP at https://baeuprising.splashthat.com/.

Directly following the 2018 Women's March on NYC, the collective BAE, an NYC-based music and healing arts community by women, for ALL, is holding space for an activation of epic proportions.

UPRISING will include post-march immersions and performances across the arts and healing modalities; an embodied celebration guided by local female DJs and music-makers; and a balanced panel conversation on the women's rights movement (featuring community leaders, artivists, and change-makers). It will function as a safe space for diverse discussion, a connective web for meaningful networking + co-creation; and a dynamic showcase of elevated female expression. It will rally the march's energy; it'll re-calibrate & rejuvenate; and it will empower and uplift, before anything else.

FEATURING: TWO SESSIONS OF PANEL CONVERSATION, IMMERSIVE ART, MUSIC, HEALING:

SESSION 001 // 3-7pm - THE WOMEN'S MOVEMENT: STAGES OF EVOLUTION

This session creates the space for an intimate gathering post-march, highlights the protest art, and holds a conversation about the women's rights movement in its past, present, and future.

SESSION 002 // 7-11pm - CITIES, SPACES, SEX, & POWER: HOW WE EVOLVE

This session delves deeper into the embodiment of uprising. The conversation meaningfully explores consent and safe spaces; gender, sexuality, and power dynamics; and "ME TOO". The evening moves into a fully activated movement celebration and closes with a group meditation. Both sessions include live art, music, and nourishment, with the panel + performance lineup for both sessions to be released.

This is a potent historic moment. We are on the edge of a new frontier in our collective experience as women. As human beings. Our gathering in supported and inclusive spaces offers us a network, an education, and the opportunity fordisrupting the status quo - for demanding equality, accountability, and reciprocity, before anything else. We are shifting the economies - we are expanding the conversations - we are affirming our liberties and we're enacting our creative potential. As women. As human beings. Our time is NOW.
