Tony Winner Nikki M. James Joins Brian d'Arcy James In New FOX Drama From Danny Strong

According to Deadline, Tony winning actress Nikki M. James is set to join the cast of a new, upcoming FOX legal drama. She has been cast as a series regular named Violet. The currently untitled series comes from Danny Strong (THE HUNGER GAMES) and David Elliot (KNIGHTFALL). She joins the previously announced cast of Brian d'Arcy James, Clare O'Conner, Russell Hornsby, Rachelle Lefevre, Riley Smith, Vincent Kartheiser. Read more about it from Deadline here!

The story centers around a legal firm that reopens investigations to help the innocent who were charged guilty, all the while putting themselves at risk for it. The team is led by O'Conner's character, Madeline. Brian d'Arcy James will play attorney Cole Bellows, and Nikki M. James will portray the office's communications director.

Nikki M. James most recently starred in CBS' quirky series Braindead. She also appeared this year in a guest arc on the hit series The Good Wife. She originated the role of Nabalungi in the hit Broadway musical, The Book of Mormon, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She went on to star as Éponine in the 2014 Broadway revival of LES MISERABLES. Other Theater Productions include All Shook Up and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer on Broadway, as well as Romeo and Juliet, Caesar and CLEOPATRA alongside Christopher Plummer, The Wiz, Twelfth Night, Bernarda Alba, House of Flowers and Preludes. She has appeared in a variety of TV shows such as 30 Rock, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and The Blacklist. Her film credits include Lucky Stiff and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

Brian D'Arcy James originated the role of King George in the sold-out Off-Broadway run of Hamilton at The Public Theater. In 2015, immediately following Hamilton, Brian starred in the Broadway musical SOMETHING ROTTEN. In film, Brian starred in the 2016 Academy Award-winning Best Picture SPOTLIGHT, and was awarded the 2016 SAG Award, Critics Choice Award, Gotham Award and the Independent Spirit's Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble for his portrayal of Matt Carroll. Off Broadway highlights include his Obie winning solo performance of THE GOOD THIEF, Drama Desk nominations for GIANT and THE WILD PARTY along with originating roles in NEXT TO NORMAL and FLOYD COLLINS, among others. He can also be seen in the latest Netflix series 13 REASONS WHY.
