Deadline reports that Marissa Jaret Winokur has signed on to be a series regular on ABC's upcoming untitled comedy pilot from Judah Miller. As previously reported, the single-camera project will follow "a Tony Award-winning mother, (portrayed by Broadway's Megan Hilty), and a risk-averse, cerebral father who are blessed with a son who is a natural-born competitive athlete. They are forced outside their parental comfort zones and into the high-octane world of youth sports."

Winokur, who is married to Miller, will take on the role of Donna, described as "the ultimate normal soccer mom and a foil to Tony Award-winning Irene (Hilty)."

Winokur is best known for her Tony winning performance as Tracy Turnblad in the highly successful Broadway musical adaptation of John Waters' film Hairspray, as well as her work on the Pamela Anderson sitcom Stacked. Other TV credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Moesha, The STEVE HARVEY Show, Just Shoot Me!, Felicity, and Dharma & Greg.

The actress was a contestant on the popular reality competition series Dancing With the Stars and went on to host the similar Dance Your Ass Off. She most recently reprised her Hairspray role in the 2011 Hollywood Bowl production.
