Thomas Ward, who was hailed by THE NEW YORK TIMES for his performance in Craig Wright's THE UNSEEN Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre, returns to New York City, this time as playwright. His dark comedy, INTERNATIONAL FALLS, marks Greyman Theatre Company's inaugural New York City production beginning in February 2014 at midtown's The Tank.

"Unhappy with his life and his marriage, yet touring the country trying to make people laugh, Tim meets Dee, an equally unhappy wife and mother working as a front desk receptionist at a hotel in International Falls, Minn.," press notes state. "When they end up in bed together after his show, what begins as an unassuming one-night stand turns into an unexpected connection as two comedians, one burned out and one aspiring, discuss their insecurities, relationships, and comedy acts. INTERNATIONAL FALLS explores what happens when a man who makes jokes about his own life meets someone who forces him to examine the truth behind them."

INTERNATIONAL FALLS is the second play by Ward to be produced in New York City, following Slant Theatre Project's production of BINGE in 2010. First seen at WaterTower Theatre's Out of the Loop Fringe Festival in Dallas, INTERNATIONAL FALLS was called "one of the best original scripts I've ever seen produced" by DALLAS MORNING NEWS critic Lawson Taitte. The play has since received celebrated productions in Portland, Ore. and Minneapolis, Minn.

Greyman Theatre Company, created in 2009, is a non-profit theatre company in New York City with the mission to discover and cultivate new voices and support the growth of artists while fostering an engaging, challenging, and relevant dialogue with its audiences. Seeking to become a permanent and vital presence in New York City, Greyman will begin producing in 2014 along with providing an innovative and dynamic education program.

The February and March 2014 performance dates and times of INTERNATIONAL FALLS have yet to be announced but will take place at The Tank, at 151 W. 46th St., 8th Fl. Ticket information will be made available soon at www.thetanknyc.org.
