Louis S. Salamone and Edmund Gaynes, operators of the Actors Temple Theatre and St. Luke's Theatre, have entered into a long-term lease for the Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street. The complex, located at 43-49 Bleecker Street, will be home to the newly renovated Bleecker Street Theatre, Lafayette Street Theatre, and Green Room performance spaces as well as Charlie's Place Café. Calvin Wynter, who has has produced comedy and theatre in Edinburgh, Melbourne, New York, Sydney and Toronto, will manage the performance spaces and café.

Press notes state, " The main stage, Bleecker Street Theatre with flexible seating from 199 to 300 seats and the smaller 99-155 seat Lafayette Street Theatre, which can be used with either traditional seating or as a cabaret space, will host eight performances per week, on the traditional Off-Broadway schedule. Both theatres are currently available for long-term booking and may also be rented on dark nights for theatrical shows as well as daytime events, auditions, rehearsals, and parties."

"The Green Room is a late night identity of the Lafayette Street Theatre," continue the press notes. "From 10:30pm to 2:30am, it will host comics, singers, musicians, acoustic music, performance artists, burlesque, and spoken word."

The theatre's lobby café, Charlie's Place, will be open 6AM through 7PM seven days a week. Outdoor seating will also be available, and several nights per week acoustic music will be featured in the café. Charlie's Place is expected to have a full liquor license by September 2007.
