Theater Masters is presenting the nine winning plays of the National MFA Playwright's Festival at The Atlantic Theater's Stage Two (330 West 16 Street) May 8th and 9th at 7:30pm, and May 10th at 4pm and 8pm. Press releases state, "Theater Masters, founded by Julia Hansen, is dedicated to developing new talent and new work by producing and presenting plays and musicals of merit.  Theater Masters serves audiences and artists from High School age upwards.  The nine playwrights represent nine universities from around the country." Pesha Rudnick (Theater Masters Associate Director), Wes Savick (writer/director, Waters Rising, Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire) and Andrew Volkoff (Barrington Stage Company's Fully Committed, Thief River) will direct.

The nine 10-minute plays and playwrights include, according to press notes:

Plans, by Rachel Brogan (UCLA; George Burns and Gracie Allen Fellowship winner)

The Interrogation Room
, by Joshua Casteel (The University of Iowa; George Devine Playwriting Award nominee for Returns)

Chryalis, by Jenny Connell (UT-Austin; Venture Theatre's Writing Prize winner)

Five Wishes, by Thomas Diggs (NYU; Arnold Weissberger Award-nominee)

Ziggy, by JP Nickel (Carnegie Mellon; Bare Bones International Independent Film Festival winner, Best 10-Minute Screenplay.)

The Chair, by Molly Rice (Brown; New Dramatists, Heidemann Award, and Princess Grace Award finalist)

Tiger Cage, by Lingxia Song (Northwestern; Assistant editor-in-chief for Daily Entertainment News)

Dumb Luck, by Joshua Tobiesson (UCSD; co-founder, Catastrophe Theatre Company)

Naked Fish, by Nathan Wright (Columbia; MFA Candidate)

The featured cast includes Harrison Chad, Karen DiConcetto, Brian Dysktra, Deb Heinig, Michael Keyloun, GD Kimble, Ryan King, Nick Lopez, Nick Mayo, Merissa Morin, Brian Ogilvie, Susan Louise O'Connor, Marni Penning, Andy Prosky, Caroline Sharman, and Dana Winkle.
