The Staten Island Children's Museum Announces Upcoming Events

The Buzz on June 1 -10 at the Staten Island Children's Museum Bug Drinks, Bug Chats, Bug Hats and a Free day too! The Staten Island Children's Museum will be closed on Memorial Day - Monday, May 31. 

Friday, June 4
Health Plus Kidz Cook - BUGS! Make a Bee Sting Drink at 2, 3 or 4 p.m.

A Chat with Chet (our beekeeper)
Saturday and Sunday. June 5th & 6th -
On Saturday at the 2 P.M. Chet Chat, our expert beekeeper Chet Crowl will share fun facts with wanna-bee entomologists. They can find out about the queen bee and the workers in the colony; about how they work, collect pollen and produce honey in the hive. At 3 P.M., the museum's interns will lead visitors in a fun game that will teach them who is who in the Home Sweet Hive.
Don't get a bee in you bonnet! On both Saturday and Sunday at 1, 2 & 3 P.M. add to you knowledge of bees and top off the afternoon by making a Bee Headband to wear home, using some fancy paper and decorations.

Thursday, June 10th Free, Free, Free Day
The final Northfield Bank Foundation Cool School Holiday of the year means that everyone gets into the museum for free from 10 A.M. - 5 P.M. In the afternoon, from noon until 4 p.m. the outdoors beckons for Kidz Day on the Meadow sponsored by Health Plus when kids can enjoy bouncy rides, games & races and artsy projects, snow cones and more.

Every day at the Children's Museum ...

Join the museum educators for Animal Time when youngsters can assist in caring for our birds, bugs, fish and guinea pig. Hear favorite tales from around the world at Storytime (call day of for schedule).

On Weekdays

Walk-In! Workshop programs on Wednesday & Thursday are free with Museum admission. Wednesday is Clay Day and Thursday is Paint Day.
While at the Museum, families can visit hands-on, fabulous interactive exhibits: Block Harbor, The Big Game, Bugs and Other Insects, Great Explorations, Portia's Playhouse, Sea of Boats, Ladder 11, D.B.'s Fantastic Machines & House About It! and more!

Museum Hours are noon - 5 p.m. when NYC public schools are open and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. when NYC public schools are closed (including weekends & summer recess). Admission is $6 per person; children under 1 and members are admitted free. Grandparents are admitted free on Wednesdays. The SI Children's Museum is located on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace, just minutes away from the Clove Road exit off the Staten Island Expressway. There is ample free parking and convenient access via public transportation on the S40 bus from the Ferry Terminal.
