Starlight Community Theater (SCT) will be presenting The Pajama Game for eleven (11) performances beginning Friday, February 22 and running through Sunday, March 10. This production will mark the seventh show of SCT's 2018-2019 season and is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

Based on the 1953 novel 7½ Cents by Richard Bissel, The Pajama Game follows labor issues in a pajama factory where workers are demanding a seven-and-a-half cent raise. In the midst of this conflict, romance begins to bloom between new superintendent, Sid Sorokin, and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee.

The Pajama Game was awarded the 1955 Tony for Best Musical and, over half of a century later, claimed the award for Best Revival of a Musical, proving that the story is truly timeless. With an energetic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (Damn Yankees), The Pajama Game is brimming with songs and dances that have become musical theatre standards, including "Steam Heat" and "Hernando's Hideaway."

"The Pajama game is a truly wonderful musical that stands the test of time," says Dan Ashlock, Director of The Pajama Game, "Starlight Community Theater is so excited to bring their version of this show to life and show off all the hard work the cast and crew have done to thrill our audiences."

Featuring plenty of fun and splashy production numbers, including a comic "dream ballet," The Pajama Game is filled with standout roles and a large ensemble, making it a perfect choice for any audience looking for a phenomenal time. This perennial favorite is a surefire crowd-pleaser and a glowing example of solid, classic musical comedy.
