Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and The Moth will partner for three upcoming shows, beginning with Blinded by the Light on Wednesday, November 8. This event is part of the 2017 White Light Festival, which explores the power of art to illuminate our inner and communal lives, with more than 35 events presented across the city, and The Moth's 20th anniversary.

Blinded by the Light will feature true, personal stories by five inspiring storytellers, alongside violinist Mazz Swift and the evening's host, Moth GrandSLAM champion Peter Aguero. During this intimate performance, the storytellers will recount personal revelations driven by the sometimes contradictory nature of light- which can help us see, but also act as a blinding force.

Blinded by the Light is the third collaboration between Lincoln Center and The Moth. Previous engagements include All These Wonders in March 2017, featuring stories about facing the unknown, and Making Waves in 2016, as part of the World Science Festival. Additional upcoming partnerships include a StorySLAM in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, and a Moth Mainstage presentation in Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

"We are very happy to be partnering with The Moth this fall and beyond," said Jane Moss, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director at Lincoln Center. "Self-illumination is central to the White Light Festival's focus. Sharing these personal revelations and private moments in a communal setting will add another, intimate dimension for our audiences this year. We look forward to Blinded by the Light and to continued evenings of reflection as we welcome The Moth to Lincoln Center later this fall and next spring."

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Lincoln Center again, both in the spring and in this fall's White Light Festival. We are grateful to them for including storytelling in this year's festival," says Catherine Burns, Artistic Director at The Moth. "Storytelling is one of the world's oldest art forms, arising from the earliest people sharing stories by the light of camp fires. For the last 20 years, The Moth has used stories to shine a light on our commonalities with the hope of promoting stronger connections, greater understanding, and the ability to see each other more clearly."

Lincoln Center's eighth annuAl White Light Festival explores transcendence and faith in the human spirit as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The Moth marks its 20th anniversary in 2017, celebrating more than 20,000 true and personal stories, told live and without notes, by people from all walks of life.
