The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (IATSE Local 706) will celebrate its 75th Anniversary with a special gala on Saturday, November 3 at The Hollywood Museum.  MAC Cosmetics is the presenting sponsor and The Hollywood Reporter is the official media sponsor of the evening.

The Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild President, Susan Cabral-Ebert, will introduce the evening and McKenzie Westmore, (SyFy’s FaceOff) will serve as the night’s Mistress of Ceremonies. Special guests include IATSE International President Matthew D. Loeb, and IATSE Vice Presidents Michael F. Miller, Jr. and Thom Davis.

Proclamations from the City of Los Angeles will be presented by Controller Wendy
Greuel, County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Councilmembers Paul Koretz, Richard
Alarcon and Paul Krekorian, as well as Assemblymen Anthony Portantino and Mike
Gatto, among others. In addition, the Los Angeles City Council has chosen to declare
November 3, 2012 as Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists, IATSE Local 706 Day at a
special ceremony at Los Angeles City Council on November 2.

Many celebrities are expected to appear on the red carpet in tribute to their personal
stylists. A look back at Local 706’s history will conclude with a video tribute to its growth
and support of its members. The Hollywood Museum, in the historic Max Factor Building
reflects Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists’ history where legend Max Factor created the
look of many iconic stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball. Attendees of the
celebration will enjoy perusing the vast collection of historical make-up and hair stylists’
memorabilia and exhibits honoring and reflecting Local 706 members work in television
and motion pictures. Guests will also receive an exclusive MAC Cosmetics gift bag.

The Make-up Artists and Hair Stylist Guild (IATSE, Local 706) was chartered in
November 1937. Today, membership includes over 1,700 artisans in the entertainment
industry worldwide. Local 706 members are make-up artists and hair stylists who
have created the looks for Hollywood’s most memorable characters and stars of stage,
screen, television and now the Internet. The wide-ranging domains of these artists

include feature films and television, commercials; “live” network television, all types of
theatrical productions and Disneyland theme parks.

For the past 75 years, Local 706 Members have created notable characters competing
for Academy Awards®, Primetime Emmys®, Daytime Entertainment Emmys®,
Saturns®, BAFTA Awards, and. many other honors for make-up and hair styling artistry
including their own Hollywood Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards®. The
Local 706 Guild publishes The Artisan, a glossy quarterly magazine, and provides
panels, workshops and training both for members and others interested in the
