July 18:With humble beginnings in the backwaters and basements of coastal Georgia, Little Tybee is a genre-bending, freely experimenting mini orchestra of friends who couldn't stop making music together if they tried. Each song begins in the relentless and creative mind of vocalist/guitarist/pianist Brock Scott and matures through the dedicated musicianship of 8-string guitarist Josh Martin, violinist Nirvana Kelly, bassist Ryan Donald, and percussionist Pat Brooks. Their latest release on Paper Garden Records, Humorous to Bees, saw the group successfully finding their unique voice, proving that they are just as adept at writing lilting pop ballads and sprawling orchestral melodies as they are with Motown and Tropicalia.

The whiskey-soaked rock and roll of Bushwick fourpiece GunFight! makes for an infectious, high-energy explosion of backcountry country-rock stomp, distorted guitars, and scratchy howling - a combo not to be missed. Miracles of Modern Science, a New York-based sea-chantey-spouting string band, truly has a sound lost in time, bringing together post-rock explosions, anthemic pop vocals, and antique textures.

August 3: Rock-and-roll gypsies THE ETTES return with a vengeance in the band's fourth LP, Wicked Will. A coming of age of sorts for the Beat Punk trio, lead singer/lyricist Coco Hames, bassist Jem Cohen, and drummer/fashionista Poni Silver bring together up-front, fearless vocals channeling sassy ‘60s Girl Group vixens, fuzz bass runs, primal, driving beats, searing guitar lines, and of course, tons of black eyeliner and female attitude. Having toured with Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and more recently the Dead Weather and the Greenhornes, THE ETTES promise an intimate and explosive show that's visually stunning and oozing sensuality.

Nashville's Heavy Color play Stonehenge punk-a loud, exuberant, ferocious set of primal beats, catchy riffs, and bewitching drones that is, in the words of the three-quarters female group, youth incarnate. Also Tennessee natives, Charles, Erik, and Roger of Hans Condor represent the truest possible form of rock and roll and exude a stellar passion to melt your face like it's their last show on earth.

August 18:First stop on the non-stop girl rock Lady Killer Tour is Brooklyn's own Knitting Factory. Headlining is Minneapolis-based Sick of Sarah, a queer pop-rock quintet fresh off their first European foray and Vans Warped Tour. Frontwoman Abisha Uhl has an ‘ear for pop, a mouth for rock, and an attitude for punk' (last.fm), and with lead guitarist Katie Murphy, bassist Jamie Holm, guitarist Jessie Farmer, and drummer Jessica Forsythe, these girls craft electric rock to the likes of The Breeders and Sleater-Kinney. Their sophomore album 2205 promises lots of girl-rocking, sing-alongs, and hilarity.

Native Canadians Hunter Valentine, comprised of vocalist/guitarist Kiyomi McCloskey, bassist Adrienne Lloyd and drummer Laura Petracca, blast raucous rock with a direct message, delivered with a devout refusal for glitz or glamour. The ladies of the Dayton, Ohio, indie-rock band Vanity Theft-guitarist Brittany Hill, singer-keyboardist Alicia Grodecki, drummer Elyse Driskill, and bassist Lalaine Paras-rock and riff sarcastically on romances past and take pride in churning out an ear-drum-beating live show not to be missed.
