The exhibition is curated by Reagan Fletcher, archivist at The Shubert Archive, and features dozens of graphic designs and photographs produced by theatrical agencies beginning with Blaine-Thompson, which opened in the late 1920s to today's Serino Coyne, Inc., The Eliran Murphy Group and SpotCo. Material has been organized to illustrate the many uniquely theatrical advertising strategies and gimmicks used on Broadway. Broadway's ballyhoo consists of everything from print ads to photography, direct mail to merchandise, Playbills to billboards, cast recordings and sheet music, magazines and window cards, television commercials, radio spots, and more.

The Ballyhoo of Broadway and A Century of Song are sponsored by The American Association of Advertising Agencies and are featured attractions of Advertising Week in New York City. In addition to The Ballyhoo of Broadway, AAAA is also sponsoring exhibitions featuring public service advertising produced by the Ad Council and the Partnership for a Drug Free America, as well as the tourism campaigns for "I Love NY".
