THE UNEXPECTED VICTORY OF THE POLISH-CZECH UNION IN WORLD WAR III Comes to Prague

The Unexpected VICTORY OF THE POLISH-CZECH UNION in World War III is now playing at The National Theatre in Prague. The show made its Czech premiere on 14 May 2026 at La Fabrika and will make its Polish premiere on 22 May 2026 at Teatr im. J. Słowackiego, Krakow.
This is a a co-production project of the NT Drama and the J. Słowacki National Theatre in Kraków. Performances will continue through 17 January 2027.
Set in 2034 amid a crumbling Europe, this politically charged production imagines a future in which Russia has occupied much of Eastern Europe, leaving Poland and Czechia as the last defenders of European values. As pressure mounts to unite the two nations through a historic Union Treaty, artists and cultural leaders are tasked with creating a shared narrative strong enough to convince the public that the two countries have always been bound together.
Directed by Jakub Krofta, the production marks the first collaboration between the ensembles of The National Theatre Drama Company and the J. Słowacki National Theatre in Kraków.
