The most honored show in Broadway history, THE PRODUCERS, the new Mel Brooks musical, and Paris Las Vegas announced today an agreement in principle to bring the acclaimed theatrical production to Las Vegas in late summer 2006. When the show makes its Las Vegas debut, it will be the only production of the hit Broadway musical west of the Mississippi.

Entering its sixth smash year on Broadway, THE PRODUCERS is the winner of the most Tony Awards in Broadway history (with 12) and continues its record- breaking run on Broadway and in London, as well as in Korea, Israel, Argentina, Mexico, Spain and Japan. For Las Vegas, the legendary, eye-popping and drop-dead funny production will be reconceived as a 90-minute extravaganza (with no intermission), especially for the resort's Paris Le Theatre des Arts. Like its New York counterpart, the production at Paris Las Vegas will feature music and lyrics by comedy icon Mel Brooks, book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan (Hairspray, Annie) and direction and choreography by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy for You, Contact, The Music Man, Oklahoma). Ticket on-sale date and details about show times and ticket prices for the Paris Las Vegas performances will be announced at a later time, following completion of a fully executed agreement.

"All of us at Paris Las Vegas are looking forward to becoming the Western home for musical theater's most successful Broadway show ever to play Las Vegas," said Marilyn Winn, President of Paris Las Vegas. "Audiences around the world love THE PRODUCERS. We look forward to working with Mel Brooks, Susan Stroman and their creative team as they work their theatrical magic."

Based on Mr. Brooks' Academy Award-winning 1968 film of the same name, THE PRODUCERS, the new Mel Brooks musical is the story of down-on-his-luck theatrical producer Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, a mousy accountant. Together they hatch the ultimate scam: raise more money than needed for a sure-fire Broadway flop and pocket the difference.

Summing up the avalanche of critical raves for THE PRODUCERS, John Heilpern of the New York Observer stated, "THE PRODUCERS is quite simply the best time you could ever wish for at the theater! Mel Brooks has put the comedy back into musical comedy."

The musical swept the 2001 Tony Awards including: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical (Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan), Best Original Score (Mel Brooks), Best Scenic Design (Robin Wagner), Best Costume Design (William Ivey Long), Best Lighting Design (Peter Kaczorowski), Best Orchestrations (Doug Besterman), Best Choreography and Best Direction of A Musical (Susan Stroman).
