THE N CROWD to Kick Off Allens Lane Art Center's Live @ The Lane Series
Executive Director B.J. Ellis hopes the Northwest Philadelphia performance becomes a yearly tradition.
The N Crowd, Philadelphia's longest-running independent short-form improv comedy show, will return to Allens Lane Art Center on Saturday, September 5, to kick off the venue's Live @ The Lane series. Known for fast-paced comedy created entirely from audience suggestions, The N Crowd will bring its unique blend of improv and audience interaction to Northwest Philadelphia for one night only.
Executive Director B.J. Ellis is excited to return this year saying, 'This is such a wonderful place to perform and last year we had a great audience. I'm hoping this becomes a yearly tradition. The staff and facilities here are top-notch.'
The N Crowd is a weekly improv comedy show that has been performing since April, 2005. The rotating cast of the troupe makes up everything on the spot with input from the audience. Much like the popular show 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?,' they play a series of games lasting 3 to 5 minutes. Every single show is different and is crafted with suggestions from the audience. The cast is tremendously diverse in background, age, and ethnicity. Some performers have been on stage since their founding in 2005 and other performers were not yet in Kindergarten when they had that first show.
