THE JOSHUA SHOW Comes to Symphony Space

A recognized "Ambassador of Joy" and award-winning puppeteer who has performed with the Broadway national tour of "Avenue Q," joshua holden returns to the Just Kidding stage with his newest show (no need to have seen Episode 1!).

When Joshua's best friend, the grumpy sock puppet Mr. Nicholas, plans a trip to outer space to escape all of the terrible things happening in the world, Joshua and his cast of zany puppets ("Snail Male, "Larry the Lint" and "The Wonderbook" among them) convince him to remain on Earth. Their gentle persuasion involves compassion, glee, old-fashioned singing and tap dancing.

The Joshua Show, which MommyPoppins recommends for its vintage "vaudevillian style," includes original songs, live music and multiple styles of puppetry. Relax into your smile muscles now, because this show will make you grin from ear to ear with contagious joy.

joshua holden (creator and host) is an award-winning international puppeteer, actor, and joy-maker based in NYC. He was named one of "20 Theatre Workers You Should Know" by American Theatre magazine. Joshua was on the Broadway national tour of "Avenue Q," the lead puppeteer in "Peter Pan 360" (ThreeSixty Entertainment), and he garnered an Arts Impulse award as well as an IRNE nomination for "Best Actor in a Musical" as Bill Snibson in "Me & My Girl" (Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston). He worked with international street artist Banksy on his controversial piece "Sirens of the Lambs." A Massachusetts native and an alumnus of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, he earned a B.F.A. in acting from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
