An eco-friendly musical comedy, staring Bob D'Haene, Eli James, Mackenzie Meehan, and Dan Debenport paints FringeNYC green!

Two Cookies is proud to present THE GREEN MANIFESTO as part of the 13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. THE GREEN MANIFESTO kicks off August 14th and plays 15th, 16th, 19th and the 24th.

THE GREEN MANIFESTO is a fresh, new musical comedy about the green movement, but at its heart and in it's soul, it's a love story. Set amidst the backdrop of Earth Day, THE GREEN MANIFESTO explores the differences between conservationists and environmentalists, and examines how environmentalism has become a runaway movement that has grown from a cause into a business. It also tells the story of Adam Greene, an environmental lawyer, and his girlfriend, PhD candidate Madison Lowey. Through Madison's research she comes to realize she is a closet conservationist.

The narrator of THE GREEN MANIFESTO is a Noel Coward-esque talking puffin named Pete. Adam is set to make partner at an environmental law firm. He's preparing for the greatest speech of his life - his Earth Day speech - but he has lost sight of everything that had ever mattered to him because he is so obsessed with making partner and making money. Madison has lost sight of her way as well, but she bonds with Pete and he teaches her an important life-lesson, which she is able to impart to Adam. Then there is the foil, Patrick Brown. Patrick is a conservationist who loves Madison and makes her question Adam's love and her own path.

This is the sixth collaboration between award winning musical theater writers Anne Berlin and Andy Cohen. The six musicals that they've written together will all have been staged within a span of thirteen months. They are FringeNYC alumni (RIPCORDS, 2008), and they have also been featured in this summer's SPF at the Public Theater, Emerging Artists Theatre's Illuminating Artists Series, the Bad Musicals Festival, and The Shortened Attention Span Musical Festival. This is their fourth collaboration with Director/Playwright Valentina Fratti, former artistic director of the Miranda Theatre Company and the associate producer of the Tony award winning play The Last Night at Ballyhoo.

Two Cookies was formed as a partnership last year between Anne Berlin and Andy Cohen. This production is produced in part with m2 productions.
