SWEET CHARITY, starring Tony-nominated Christina Applegate, will play its final Broadway performance at the conclusion of Applegate's scheduled run December 31st at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W 45th St). The show began previews on Broadway April 11th and opened on May 4th following engagements in Minneapolis, Chicago and Boston.

It will have played 279 performances and 25 previews.

SWEET CHARITY received 2005 Tony Award nominations for Best Actress in a Musical, Best Revival of a Musical and Best Choreography, along with four Outer Critics Circle Award nominations and four Drama Desk Award nominations, winning the Drama Desk for Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Denis O'Hare).

Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler and Clear Channel Entertainment in association with Edwin W. Schloss, the show is directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento. With book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Flaiano, SWEET CHARITY is a funny, poignant and tender look at the misadventures of Charity Hope Valentine (Applegate), a dance-hall hostess who always gives her heart - and her earnings - to the wrong man.

SWEET CHARITY also stars Denis O'Hare as Oscar, Mylinda Hull as Nickie, Kisha Howard as Helene, with Ernie Sabella as Herman and Paul Schoeffler as Vittorio.
