Steven Pasquale, Lauren Ambrose to Lead A&E's COMA Miniseries

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Broadway veterans Steven Pasquale and Lauren Ambrose are set to lead Tony and Ridley Scott's COMA miniseries for A&E. As descried by THR, the show is about 'a doctor who begins to suspect that something is amiss when healthy patients begin to fall into comas.'

Also set to costar in the series are Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, James Woods and Geena Davis. COMA will premiere on Memorial Day 2012.

Ambrose is perhaps best known for starring as Claire Fisher in HBO's Six Feet Under, In 2006, Ambrose made her Broadway debut in the Lincoln Center Theater revival of Awake and Sing!. In 2007, she appeared as Juliet in The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, to great critical acclaim. She appeared as Ophelia in the 2008 performance of Hamlet for Shakespeare in the Park. Ambrose recently returned to Broadway in Exit the King (by Eugene Ionesco) at the Ethel Barrymore Theater on Broadway, opposite Geoffrey Rush and Susan Sarandon. Ambrose provided the voice of monster KW in Where the Wild Things Are, which was released in 2009. She can currently be seen in Starz' Torchwood: Miracle Day.

Pasquale created the role of Fabrizio in the original Seattle cast of The Light in the Piazza but his work on Rescue Me prevented him from realizing the role on Broadway. He played the role of Sheriff Joe Sutter in the musical The Spitfire Grill in which he introduced the song "Forest For the Trees." He then scored the lead role of Chris in the 1998 American tour of Miss Saigon. In 2002, he appeared in the New York production of A Man of No Importance in the role of Robbie Faye. He appeared at the Joey DiPaolo AIDS Foundation's concert of The Secret Garden as Archibald Craven.
