Squeaky Fromme Show Premieres At United Solo On 9/30

Squeaky, written and performed by Brad Forenza, will premiere as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival on Sunday September 30, 2018 at 7:30pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, NYC). The show explores unrequited love, political fanaticism, and one woman's quest for liberation.

Squeaky takes place in 2014, at the announced wedding of cult leader Charles Manson and his millennial bride. Squeaky, a disciple of Manson and the would-be assassin of President Gerald Ford, has crashed the anticipated nuptials to stake her claim. As she holds the wedding guests hostage, she opines about the current state of affairs and the unavailable men in her life.

As Forenza notes, "There is nothing endearing about the 'Manson Family' or the crimes they perpetrated; however, the 'Family' continues to permeate the American psyche. Squeaky is incredibly rich source material, as her story lives at the intersection of politics, popular culture, and a discarded humanity."

The September issue of IN New York Magazine calls Squeaky a "thought provoking contemplation" and "A highlight of the ninth annual United Solo Theatre festival." After a preview performance, audience response has been favorable:

Squeaky premieres as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival, the world's largest festival of solo performance, on Sunday September 30, 2018 at 7:30pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, NYC). Tickets can be purchased via: http://unitedsolo.org/us/squeakyn-2018/
