The new musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT, which was just nominated for Best Musical of the 2004-2005 Season by the Drama League and the Outer Critics Circle, has set a new house record at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway, with a net gross of $905,222.92 for the 8-performance week ending April 24, 2005 (passing the previous record set by "Gypsy" of $903,525 for the week ending June 29, 2003).

Directed by Mike Nichols, Monty Python's SPAMALOT, stars David Hyde Pierce, Tim Curry and Hank Azaria, with a book by Eric Idle, and music and lyrics by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. The production opened at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on March 17 following a sold-out run at Chicago's Shubert Theatre.

"60 Minutes" has scheduled a segment on Monty Python's SPAMALOT to air this Wednesday, April 27 on the CBS network at 8PM.

On May 3, Decca Broadway will release the original cast recording of Monty Python's SPAMALOT.
