Variety is reporting that due to the unexpected early closing of Xanadu this coming Sunday, a limited holiday run of Slava's Snowshow is likely to take place at the Helen Hayes Theater.

"Producers of "Slava" did not confirm an upcoming run, but the nouveau clown show has been circling a holiday engagement on the Rialto since it ended its 2-year Off Broadway stint in early 2007. Although that incarnation of "Slava" shuttered to tour, strong winter sales in Gotham helped encourage plans for a holiday return," Variety states.

Slava's Snowshow is the creation of Russian-born Slava Poulin. Inspired by the most famous mime artists of all time, including Charlie Chaplin, Marcel Marceau and Engibaro, Slava has dedicated his life since the age of 17 to re-claiming and re-establishing the art and craft of the true clown. After founding his own theater company "Litsedei" in 1979, Slava hastaken clowning out of the circus and into the streets, and from there to the major theaters around the world. Since its debut in 1993, the show has traveled to over 25 countries, performing to more than 2.5 million patrons in 80 cities including London, Toronto, Paris, Rome, Lisbon, and Berlin.
