Remember back in the early 80's when every local New York TV station had a theatre critic and on the opening night of a Broadway show you could flip the dial and between 10:45PM and 11:30PM you could catch reviews on 6 different stations?

Well, after many years of Roma Torre carrying the standard at NY1 as the only reviewer to regularly cover every Broadway opening, tonight marks something of a return to days when local news covered entertainment in New York.

Currently scheduled to review the opening of Monty Python's SPAMALOT at the Shubert Theatre tonight are:

WWOR – Channel 9 – Pat Collins between 10 and 11PM

NY1 Roma Torre – in rotation beginning late in the evening

WCBS – Channel 2 – Jess Cagle between 11 and 11:30PM

WNBC – Channel 4 – Jeffrey Lyons between 11 and 11:30PM
