Scholarship Set for Music Director Training Program Weekend Intensive 9/16

MusicianWages.com, the website for working musicians, and Singing OnStage Productions have teamed to sponsor one music director to attend Singing OnStage Productions' Weekend Intensive Music Director Training Program to be held at Davenport Studio, 250 West 49th Street in NYC, from September 16-18, 2011. The program is first ongoing opportunity of its kind for talented musicians to train with a diversity of leaders in the music and theatre industries with interactive panel discussions on the topics of conducting, working with voices, orchestrations/vocal arranging, rehearsal techniques, music software, developing an income stream, collaborating with other industry professionals, and more. Seminars will be comprised of industry leaders, who will bring their up-to-the-minute expertise while connecting participants to influential industry professionals who can forward their career. Applications for the scholarship will be accept until midnight on September 6, 2011. The scholarship winner will be announced on the MusicianWages.com Facebook Page on September 9th (http://www.facebook.com/musicianwages).

Panelists for the Weekend Intensive include top Broadway musical directors: David Chase (How To Succeed, Billy Elliott), David Evans (Wicked; Hello, Again; composer: Birds of Paradise, Children's Letters to God), Eric Stern, and Henry Aaronson (Rock of Ages). Composers Adam Gwon (Ordinary Days, The Boy Detective Fails) and Anna Jacobs (POP! and Harmony, Kansas), orchestrator Michael Starobin (Falsettos, Sunday in the Park with George, Assassins) and master voIce Teacher Mary Saunders, among others.

Singing OnStage Productions (SOS) is a new musical theatre Production Company located in the heart of New York City's theatre district.
