On this morning's TODAY on NBC, Meredith Vieira aired an exclusive interview she had conducted with Charla Nash, the Connecticut woman who was brutally attacked by her neighbor's pet chimpanzee in 2009. The interview marked the first time that Nash has revealed her new face since undergoing a face transplant operation several months ago.

The groundbreaking surgery was performed in Boston this past May.  Nash had previously been interviewed by Oprah in 2010 prior to the surgery.

On today's interview, Nash reported that she was "feeling good" despite some setbacks, including an infection which resulted after a double hand transplant surgery.  Due to the infection, the transplanted hands had to be removed, but Nash is hopeful that doctors will make a second attempt to perform the surgery in the near future.
