This week on GLEE, Mercedes(Amber Riley), Sam(Chord Overstreet), and the rest of the cast will be singing one of the most famous high school songs of all time: "Summer Nights" from GREASE. In the following video, the new HOW TO SUCCEED star, Darren Criss and the Glee Project's Damian McGinty take viewers behind the scenes of filming this song. For this performance, the GLEE makers decided to film the song on the very same bleachers used in the movie. This episode will air January 17 at 8/7pm.

Now in its third season, GLEE is a musical comedy about a group of eager and ambitious students who strive to outshine their singing competition to win Nationals while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High. Since its debut, GLEE has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, received prestigious honors including the Golden Globe and Peabody Award and singlehandedly made glee clubs cool again.

GREASE is a 1978 American musical film directed by Randal Kleiser and based on WarRen Casey's and Jim Jacobs's 1972 Broadway musical of the same name about two lovers in a 1950s high school. The film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway. For the film, the title song was performed by Franki Valli. It was successful both critically and at the box office, and its soundtrack album ended 1978 as the second-best selling album of the year in the United States.
