Harvey Fierstein revealed this evening on Twitter that Tony nominee B.J. Crosby has passed away. She was 63.

Crosby last starred on Broadway in ONE MO' TIME as 'Ma Reed' in 2002. The actress made her debut on the Great White Way in SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE in 1995 -- the performance earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She has also starred in CHICAGO as 'Matron "Mama" Morton'.

Her other theatre credits include roles in DREAMGIRLS and George C. Wolfe's HARLEM SONG.

Crosby appeared on television in an episode each of LAW & ORDER: SVU and ALLY MCBEAL. She also took to the big screen in 2006 in THE IMMACULATE MISCONCEPTION.
