After winning over New York City audiences with their rambunctious brand of revelry back in April, SHOTSPEARE is back by popular demand at The Slipper Room for four nights only with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet Thursday, August 7, 14 and 21 and Monday, August 11. All shows are at 8:00 PM.

SHOTSPEARE brings together five sword-wielding actors, one drunken audience member, a ridiculous amount of booze, and an entire work of Shakespeare, all in under an hour. Combining live theater with real liquor, real steel and a healthy dose of comedy, SHOTSPEARE takes the world's most beloved playwright, soaks him in beer and flips him on his head. For their August engagement at The Slipper Room, SHOTSPEARE will present their chaotic and comedic interpretation of the Bard of Avon's greatest love story, Romeo and Juliet. The most "tragic" thing about this classic tragedy would be if the booze runs out!

Harkening back to the actual time of Shakespeare where audience members (groundlings) were boisterous and partook in the show, SHOTSPEARE is an interactive staging of a Shakespearean work infused with a raucous drinking game. SHOTSPEARE, dubbed the, "world's first Shakespearean drinking game show," allows the audience to participate in the mayhem that is equal parts bacchanal and classical theater. You may know Shakespeare, but you've never seen Shakespeare like THIS!

Tickets are $15 and available at www.slipperroom.com or cash at the door. The Slipper Room is located at 167 Orchard St. (Entrance on Stanton St.), New York, NY 10002. Performances continue on August 14 and 21 at 8:00 PM. How to get there: F, J, M, Z Trains to Delancey and Essex. For more about the show, go to www.shotspeare.com.
