Rosie Perez, Academy Award-nominated actress, hosts the 2011 Fort Greene Festival Kick-Off Party on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Sanders Studios in Brooklyn, New York. Q-Tip, Grammy Award-winning performer/songwriter/producer ("A Tribe Called Quest") and Pete Rock ("Pete Rock & CL Smooth") will be the Celebrity DJs. As longed planned, a group of Fleet Week NYC military service members will also be in attendance and honored at the Fort Greene Festival Kick-Off event with a special musical performance of "Evolution" www.alexmitchell.org/Evolution.mp3 by musician, Alex Mitchell.

The 2011 Fort Greene Festival www.fortgreenefest.com, produced and promoted by I See Productions, LLC, returns to NYC's Fort Greene Park on Saturday, June 25, 2011. The 2010 Fort Greene Festival took place on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Common, Grammy Award-winning performer; Gordon Chambers, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter; singers Soulive; Heather Park; Soul Mafia; Shae Fiol; Deep; and Stacie Aamon, among others performed. Rosie Perez, Academy Award-nominated actress; actor/singer, Malik Yoba; and writer/tv personality, Toure were the hosts. Music acts and hosts for the 2011 Fort Greene Festival will soon be announced.

The Fort Greene Festival is a major, not-for profit, community service event. Fort Greene Festival's demographics reflect a stronghold for some of NYC's political, business, civic, fashion, media, entertainment and sports leaders and stars. During such a still-rebounding economy, the Fort Greene Festival is quite a treat and a great opportunity to enjoin families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, businesses, class reunions, family reunions, school reunions, fraternity/sorority reunions, international tourists, military service members, and simply people. Attendees enjoy a great day with featured, special and surprise guest entertainment, in addition to art, music, health, fitness, nutrition, wellness, sports, culture, food, vendors, community service organizations, media, politicians and a host of folks from across the globe. There will also be an on-site diabetes, hypertension, and kidney disease awareness drive. The all-day festival has an urban-Woodstock feel. The Fort Greene Festival on Saturday, June 25, 2011 is free to attend.
