Award winning, New York artist Robin Antar is the first female artist to exhibit at NYC's POP International Galleries. Antar will have numerous works represented at Pop International Galleries at 473 West Broadway beginning March 2012. The Soho gallery fills an important niche in New York City, as it is the only street level gallery with a special, fun and important focus. In business since 1997, it has become the pre-eminent center making POP Art available to collectors of all types.

Robin Antar's work is a perfect match for POP International Galleries because her 'Realism in Stone' are iconic sculptures representing American culture right down to the details. She carves them in stone and then applies customized oil based stains to many of them, achieving an effect that is so real it leaves the viewer asking, "Is it sculpture or is it the real thing?"

Antar is a nationally exhibited and internationally collected artist. Her work has appeared in exhibitions at the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum in New Jersey, The Alternative Museum, Montclair State University, Pen and Brush Inc., Bradley Gallery/Indiana State University and New York University, Loeb Student Center among others. Awards and Honors include Gold Medal Award of Honor - Allied Artists of America, Top Talent Award from the Art Director's Club and the Gretchen Richardson Award for Carved Sculpture from the National Association of Women Artists and many more. Her work appears in the collections of Skechers, DR. Martins Boots, Chateau Haut-Brion.

Many of Antar's award-winning works will be on view including: Boxing Gloves (carved Cararra Marble and Bronze), French's Mustard (carved Yellow Travertine), Heinz ketchup (carved Red Travertine), Hellman's Mayonnaise (carvEd White Travertine Marble), York Peppermint Pattie (carved stone then cast in stainless steel), Bag of Oreo cookies (carved marble), Bag of Milano cookies (carved marble), Soda Can (carved marble and silver), Paint Tube (carved from marble and steel), Crest toothpaste with Brush (carved marble and vinyl). Antar was named in the recent The Best of America Sculpture Artists Volume II.

POP International Galleries was founded in 1997 by Jeff Jaffe who firmly believes that a strong educational component is vital to nurturing all types of collectors. Pop International Galleries is known for "de-mystifying" the art buying experience, bringing world class artists, in an easygoing and accessible environment, to collectors from all over the globe. Events at the gallery include guest lectures and discussions, screenings and slide shows as well as charitable tie-in's which makes POP International Galleries very much a part of the community at large. Artists represented by POP International include Jean-Michael Basquiat, Keith Haring, Mark Kostabi, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol among others.
