Repast Baroque Ensemble Presents Dresden Fireworks Concerts on March 2 at Brooklyn's First Unitarian Church and March 3 at Manhattan's Advent Lutheran Church

Repast Baroque Ensemble will be in concert, performing Dresden Fireworks, Friday, March 2 at McKinney Chapel, First Unitarian Church, 116 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn Heights and Saturday, March 3 at Advent Lutheran Church, 2504 Broadway at 93rd St. in Manhattan - 8:00 PM both evenings.

Repast celebrates music from the Golden Age of the city of Dresden during the 18th century, when some of Europe's finest musicians were engaged to perform in its top-ranked court orchestra. Performing on period instruments, this ensemble of violin, oboe, cello, bassoon and harpsichord will present Johann Friedrich Fasch's Sonata in F Major for violin, oboe, bassoon and continuo, Vivaldi's Oboe Sonata in C minor, RV 53, Francesco Maria Veracini's Violin Sonata in E minor, Op 1 No 6, Johann Friedrich Fasch's Bassoon Sonata in C major, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach's Fantasia in C minor for solo harpsichord and Jan Dismas Zelenka's Trio No. 3 in B-flat.

Performers will be Repast members Amelia Roosevelt, violin, Stephanie Corwin, bassoon, Katie Rietman, cello and Gabe Shuford, harpsichord, with guest Geoffrey Burgess, oboe.

Founded in 2003 in New York City, Repast has performed as part of Miller Theatre's Bach and the Baroque series and at the Getty Center in Los Angeles; Bargemusic; the Miami Bach Society; the Minneapolis Institute of Arts; Peak Performances, and many other venues. Baruch Performing Arts Center presented Repast in an annual three-concert series from 2004-2016. In 2015 Repast added a new concert venue in Brooklyn Heights, and in 2016 began to perform at Advent Lutheran Church on the Upper West Side.
