Blackfriars Theatre will be hosting a return engagement of the newest show from popular sketch-comedy troupe EstroFest, The new show features audience involvement and a dash of improv, with sketches like "The Mother Moose Show," which humorously reminds us how scary classic childhood stories really are; "The Mating Game," where host Lucky Lucy introduces you to three colorful bachelorettes; "Old Testament Divas" and its first-person stories from Eve and Noah's wife; and "On the Lawnfront," where lawn ornaments, such as the flamingo, gnome, and lawn jockey, come to life to talk about neighborhood happenings.

Alan Jones and Phyl Contestable have been partners in entertainment and fast friends for over thirty years! As Rochester's "Premier Cabaret Duo", they started at the Changing Scene revolving restaurant for what was supposed to be a two-week contract. They left four years later..with little time off!

Career highlights include opening for Bill Cosby, Rich Little, Jackie Mason; featured guest performers with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Brockport Sympony; a summer season at Trump's Castle in Atlantic City; the 1000 Island Club, Royal York Hotel (Toronto), Rochester Ryder Cup, LPGA, Univ of Missoula, Montana Seminar, and more, more, more.
As you can see, these popular haven't disappeared or retired! They're still making music all over the country and Blackfriars welcomes Phyl and Alan to the stage for a musical review recalling their days at the Changing Scene. Reverend Mother, post Nunsense, promises (insists?) to bless us with her presence as well.

Blackfrairs presents a home run of a comedy - Rounding Third is a two-man comedy about a pair of mismatched little league coaches trying to lead their team to victory. Mike, the new assistant coach, believes every kid should get a chance to play; that winning is not as important as learning and having fun. While Don, the grizzled veteran, insists that the only way to have fun is to win. When it comes to preparing our children for the future, is it more important to promote ethics, or to teach them to win at all costs?

Debbie Does Dallas - 7/30, 7/31, 8/1, 8/6, 8/7, 8/8, 8/11, 8/14, 8/18, 8/20, 8/21

All tickets $20.00
The most important theatrical event of the twenty-first century, Debbie Does Dallas is a modern morality tale told as a comic musical of tragic proportions in the language of the rodeo-porno-football circus. The show is the coming-of-age story of an all-American small-town sweetheart named Debbie Benton. Debbie is captain of her high-school cheerleading team, but she dreams of making it to the big time by becoming a Texas Cowgirl Cheerleader. When Debbie receives a letter telling her she has qualified for the professional squad, the only thing that stands between her and the realization of her dream is bus fare to the big city: Dallas. Debbie enlists her teammates, Lisa, Roberta, Donna and Tammy, to get full-time jobs after school and on weekends to help pay for her trip to Dallas. The girls form a company called Teen Services and get jobs, but they quickly realize minimum-wage jobs just don't pay enough. Luckily, Debbie's boss, Mr. Greenfelt, has an idea how the girls can raise enough money in time.
