The composers and performers of Random Access Music (RAM) are thrilled to present the 6th Annual Queens New Music Festival taking place Friday, May 19th through Sunday, May 21st. The mission of the festival is to promote new music in Queens by highlighting the wealth of artists living and working in Queens, as well as inviting artists from other parts of New York City and the country to contribute to the livelihood of the most diverse borough of the city.

RAM is proud to host a special pre-festival event: a collaboration with faculty and students from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, CUNY curated by Michael Lipsey. Student performers will present a program of new and known music on Tuesday, May 16th at 8pm to warm up the audience for this year's Queens New Music Festival. Proceeds from this concert will be donated to www.hourchildren.org, whose mission is to help incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children successfully rejoin the community, reunify with their families, and build healthy, independent, and secure lives.

Opening night on Friday, May 19th at 7pm, features the Svr?ek-Ojeda piano duo (Susan Svr?ek & Nelson Ojeda- Valdes), and (h)artDrive electric guitar duo (Giacomo Baldelli & Nadav Lev). The music continues throughout the weekend with world renown flutist Robert Dick, violinist Myroslava (Mira) Khomik & pianist Füreya Ünal (L.A.), New York City Guitar Orchestra, loadbang, and vocal works by RAM composers, and guest composer Kamala Sankaram.

All performances will be held at The Secret Theatre's Main Stage in Long Island City as part of the LIC Arts Open. Tickets for all concerts are $15 including Tuesday's student concert.
