Richard Pryor Jr. (1st-born son of the late great) stars in International CringeFest '10, the seriously irreverent annual festival presented by NY Artists Unlimited at the Producers' Club, 358 W. 44 St., July 19-August 8. Richard appears in multiple roles in the theme evening SEX ENCOUNTERS OF A DISTURBED MIND, directed by Robert Bartley. SEX ENCOUNTERS opens on Friday, July 23rd, the night the Honorary Golden Pineapple Awards will be presented to Broadway, off-Broadway, and independent theatre movers 'n shakers...

Admission for the show, Honorary Golden Pineapple Awards, and the splendiferous party in the theatre's Iluras Lounge is only $40. Proceeds go to support the company's dedicated mission of taking professional theatre to under-served audiences. Last year, Pineapples went to Taylor Mead, Mink Stole, Joe Franklin, Ginny Louloudes, and Michael Musto. In 2008, it was legendary actress Marilyn Sokol, cabaret star Sidney Myer, and Warhol muse Ultra Violet. Director Tom O'Horgan (Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar) was honored in 2007.

The first 500 festival-goers July 19-August 8 get stunning black buttons with the screaming woman festival logo. There will be talk-backs and food parties surrounding some evenings. Plays are arranged in theme evenings and given quirky titles by artistic director Melba LaRose. Schedule: www.NYartists.org or www.Theatermania.com. Audience votes nightly for winners of the Golden Pineapple, Silver Tomato, Bronze Banana... and Jack Lemons for the actors. Surprise 5-minute entr'actes stop by, e.g. naughty songstress Jessica Delfino and mock-rocker Huck DeMilo. The Producers' Club has a charming bar & lounge where you can mingle with the stars.

A silent auction will be launched on July 14 and run throughout the festival. To get an advance look at the exciting items up for grabs, visit: http://www.biddingforgood.co/NYArtistsAuction2010.
