Producer Kendrell Bowman Creates New Talk Show 'The Happy Hour'

ANTHONYKEN, LLC has revealed a new talk show "The Happy Hour", created by Kendrell Bowman (Off-Broadway Shows "Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical" "An Evening with Phyllis Hyman", "A Soulful Christmas").

The show plans to air via Facebook & YouTube and film in New York City at Melba's Restaurant located in the heart of Harlem. Taping for The Happy Hour will begin mid-February.

"The Happy Hour" is a dynamic and diverse group of five gay professional men that discuss a wide range of topics ranging from politics, dating, relationships, fashion and pop culture. The highly anticipated show will feature a wild card guest (a straight professional) on each episode that will share their point of view during the discussion. Led by Bowman, the panel includes Patrick L. Riley, David Hand, Derrick Vidrine & Jay Beauchamps. "The Happy Hour" is Executive Produced by AnthonyKen, LLC. (Anthony Wayne & Kendrell Bowman) and Producer Ulyssa Salett.

"The Happy Hour" Cast Bios:

David Hand

A survivor of a suburban Connecticut upbringing and a career in corporate communications design, David Hand was discovered by a model scout at 50 and has emerged as one of New York City's premier 50-plus runway and editorial models. At 52, his mission is to inspire men of all ages to get fit, stay fit, and live with style, through his "misterdavidhand" Instagram persona.

A pragmatist and realist, David's matter-of-fact approach comes with healthy doses of snark, anti-divaism, and impropriety that's sure to add a spark to conversations at The Happy Hour table.

Derrick Vidrine is a resident of Harlem and was born and raised in Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University and majored in Accounting. He is currently a forensic accountant conducting government-mandated reviews of fraud, misconduct and anti-money laundering investigations of global financial institutions. Derrick has been active in the Harlem community by seeking public service in a grass roots political campaign including participation in community engagement and voter registration initiatives, serving as treasurer for a New York City council campaign, co-organizing a convicted felons return to society forum, and by making Harlem greener by planting flowers and greenery across the community. I bring my "Southern Charm" and "Hospitality" to the table. Second, I have a different way of thinking and view of the current state of the world and our community. I also hold true to my spirituality and relationship with GOD and have traditional moral values that are different than the norm.

Patrick Riley is best known for his work as a freelance, senior field producer at "The Oprah Winfrey Show" for over 13 years - including ABC network credits on "Oprah's Legends Ball" and "Building a Dream: The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy". That opportunity provided moments for the Tokyo-born, Savannah, GA-reared Patrick to interview Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton as well as many of his own idols - including Diana Ross, Mary Tyler Moore, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Dr. Maya Angelou, and many more. Since OPRAH wrapped in 2011, on-camera and event hosting opportunities have folded prominently into the Morehouse College graduate's schedule - including return appearances with Daily Blast Live; TV-ONE's "Life After"; COZI-TV; BET; The Advocate; Wells Fargo; and Arise Entertainment 360. He has received a number of industry nods for his work, including the 2014 Momentum Education's "Pillar of Empowerment" Award at Momentum Honors in New York City as well as several awards from the National, Atlanta, and New York Associations of Black Journalists, and others. Patrick's hardcover book, "That's What Friends Are For: On the Women Who Inspired Me," is published by Dorpie Books. NABJ deemed it "Outstanding Literary Work" as the NYC Pride organization awarded him its 2018 Trailblazer Award honor in Harlem at The Schomburg Center of Culture & Research.

Jay Beauchamps is an NYC transplant that came from Miami. He is of Dominican decent and decided to move to NYC to excel in his career. Jay works as a Logistics Coordinator and focuses on Imports to the USA from all over the world. He graduated from the University of Miami in 2010 and double majored in Broadcast Journalism and History with a minor in English. As a former entertainer, Jay has danced backup for Tamar Braxton, Tinashe, J-Lo, Pitbull, The VMA's, the Latin Grammy's just to name a few. He has also sung in musicals such as Rent, Chicago & Sound of Music. Mr.Beauchamps was a singer/dancer at the Tropical Café in South Beach, Miami. During his tenure there he laid out all of the background vocals for the Michael Jackson show and the Usher show. A few things that I bring to the table are an open mind, thoughtfulness and comedy along with a fresh take on many subjects.
