Nassau Museum will host PETER MAX FAMILY DAY on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Artist Peter Max will judge a Children's Drawing Contest from 1 to 4 p.m. and sign books and posters from 3 to 4 p.m. All entries will be exhibited at the museum.

Meet artist Peter Max, the famed Pop artist whose drawings and fabulously vibrant paintings are now on view at the museum. Join in his big Art Contest and Exhibition and enjoy a visit with this world-renowned artist! Max will share his thoughts on creativity and his life as an artist. He will also create some original line drawings right as the audience watches!

Peter Max has created an original drawing that he's asking children to color and make their own. This can be done at home, before February 2, by downloading the drawing from the museum's website (nassaumuseum.com/events, scroll down to Peter Max Family Day). Or pick up the drawing on February 2 and color it in at the museum. Peter Max will then judge the entries. All children who enter the contest will receive a prize. All drawings will be included in a temporary exhibition at the museum.

No reservations are needed for Peter Max Family Day on Sunday, February 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. The fee is museum admission plus $8 per family materials fee.

From 3 to 4 p.m., in the first floor café area, Peter Max will sign and dedicate books and posters purchased at the Museum Store. Please be sure to bring your receipt to the signing. The signing is free with museum admission.

Nassau County Museum of Art is located at One Museum Drive in Roslyn Harbor, just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A, two traffic lights west of Glen Cove Road. Weekends only there is a $2 parking fee (members, free). For more information, visit http://nassaumuseum.org/events.
