Photos: THE DROWSY CHAPERONE Opens Friday At City Circle Theatre Company

City Circle Theatre Company will present THE DROWSY CHAPERONE at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. The production will run May 1–3 and May 8–10, 2026. See photos of the production.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical comedy centered on a theatre fan who plays his favorite cast album, causing the story to come to life around him. The show features a musical-within-a-musical structure and celebrates elements of classic Broadway performance.

Performances will take place Friday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m.; Friday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. A Student Rush will be available for the May 2 performance, with remaining seats offered for $15 beginning one hour before curtain.

The cast includes Uri Lessing as Man in Chair, Alex Siron as Robert, Gabriel Lessing as George, Jenny Amundson as Janet, Kami Zbanek Hill as Chaperone, Ethan Glenn as Aldolpho, Emily Ash as Kitty, Caleb Haselhuhn as Feldzieg, Zoe Murphy as Gangster #1, Tiffany Zarifkar as Gangster #2, Christine Enderle as Tottendale, John Smick as Underling, and Courtney Faust as Trix. The ensemble features Sabrina Duke, Allie Klinsky, Alex Kohler, Sam Nester, Abby Noelck, and Cassie Williams.

The production is directed by John Zbanek Hill, with music direction by Leslie Hyland, choreography by Aaron Malec, and stage management by Nicky Beaurivage.
