Actress, Maureen Teefy performed her one-woman show, "A Subject for a Short Story" at Solofest 2016 on Sunday night to a sold-out crowd at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks.

Teefy, who is best-known for her starring roles in such film classics as, "Fame", "Supergirl" and "Grease 2", shared compelling personal stories of her life and anecdotes from her long career in film and theatre. Teefy was accompanied by her musical director Bill Jenkins on piano and entertained the full house with a delightful tap dance to Cole Porter's "You Got That Thing", choreographed by Cathy Chazan. Teefy did not disappoint her devoted "Fame" fans and re-created her memorable role, as drama student 'Doris Finsecker' in Alan Parker's musical drama, by singing, "The Way We Were."

The title, "A Subject for a Short Story" refers to the role of 'Nina' from "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov, which Teefy was cast to play when she was 18 years old. Teefy uses Nina's journey, as a parallel to her life up to now.
