Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of The Commons of Pensacola by Amanda Peet, directed by MTC's award-winning artistic director Lynne Meadow opened last night at MTC at New YorkCity Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). BroadwayWorld was there for all of the festivities and you can check out photos from the after party below!
The limited engagement, which opens Thursday, November 21, has already been extended due to overwhelming demand and must close onSunday, January 26. This is the last possible extension for the production.
THE COMMONS OF PENSACOLA stars Emmy and Tony award winner Blythe Danner, Zoe Levin(The Way Way Back), Ali Marsh ("In Plain Sight"), Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner SarahJessica Parker, Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield), and Nilaja Sun (No Child...).
Judith (Blythe Danner) has been divested of her assets and forced to leave her luxurious New York life after her husband's Wall Street scam became headline news. When her daughter Becca (SarahJessica Parker) and Becca's filmmaker boyfriend (Michael Stahl-David) pay Judith a visit to the one bedroom condo Judith now occupies in Pensacola, Florida, everyone's motives are called into question. How will past and present circumstances inform how this family moves into the future?
