The New York Philharmonic is currently presenting four performances - from March 7-10 - of Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady at Avery Fisher Hall.
As with their sold-out Sweeney Todd and Candide, the Philharmonic is performing in full costume, onstage along with the cast. My Fair Lady is directed by James Brennan, and stars Kelli O'Hara as Eliza Doolittle, Kelsey Grammer as Professor Henry Higgins, Charles Kimbrough as Colonel Pickering, and Brian Dennehy as Alfred Doolittle. In the tradition of its sold-out Sweeney Todd and Candide, the Philharmonic is performing the classic music in a fully costumed, semi-staged concert production. With such now-standard songs as "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night," "On the Street Where You Live," and "I've Grown Accustomed to her Face," Lerner and Loewe's musical won nine Tonys on Broadway and eight Oscars in its film version.
Tickets are available online at nyphil.org, by calling 212-875-5656, or at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center Box Office at 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY.
