The Actors' Fund's 10th Annual Tony Awards Party honoring the legendary Liza
Minnelli was held at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles on
Sunday, June 11th.
Sam Harris hosted the evening - playing to a capacity crowd. Unanimous reviews are that he was a superb host - keeping the audience laughing and happy throughout the evening. During one of the commercials during the live feed of the Tonys - Minnelli received a phone call (that the whole audience got to listen in on) from Actors' Fund President Brian Stokes Mitchell - congratulating her on her Actors' Fund Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement (which was presented to her by Sam and by Brittany Murphy). Oscar- and Tony Award-winner Minnelli spoke eloquently about her career and about The Actors' Fund. An adoring audience gave her two standing ovations during the evening.
