Photo Coverage: Alexander Wang x H&M Campaign

The much anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collection doesn't hit stores until November 6 but we finally have the ad campaign to drool over while we (not so patiently) wait.

The campaign, shot by Mikael Jansson, features real athletes like soccer player Andy Carroll and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos sporting as well as models Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana and Natasha Poly. The print campaign has already started to appear in many dailies and monthly magazines and the TV commercial will begin airing on Oct. 30, plus an online film.

"We wanted to take certain elements of each sport and portray the ultimate warrior," Wang told WWD. "The girls had to feel big and heroic, and Mikael used sunlight glares to heighten that effect against a stark white backdrop."

When the collaboration was first announced, Wang said, "I am honored to be a part of H&M's designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle."

This is the first time that an American designer teams up with H&M, and the Alexander Wang x H&M collection will feature apparel and accessories for both men and women.

The New York based fashion designer's eponymous brand has firmly established itself by perpetually evolving and re-contextualizing the urban uniform, since it was launched on the runway in 2007. Alexander Wang's core sensibility is a reflection on contrasts, blending seamlessly between the refined and the imperfect. His collections have an unprecious outlook on fashion, and always reflect a sense of ease.
