They 2005 New York Innovative Theatre Awards were held on September 19th at 7 PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (101 Christopher Street), and hosted by Charles Busch (Psycho Beach Party, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife).

"The New York IT Awards is a not-for-profit arts organization supporting Off-Off-Broadway, by celebrating and recognizing extraordinary Off-Off-Broadway theatre, nurturing the community of Off-Off-Broadway and honoring the artistic heritage of Off-Off-Broadway. The NYITA organization recognizes the unique and essential role Off-Off-Broadway plays in contributing to American and global culture. We believe that publicly recognizing excellence in Off-Off-Broadway will expand audience awareness and appreciation of the full New York theatre experience," according to press notes.

She competed with students from all over the country, including fellow Boston regional finalist and Boston Arts Academy student Seine Young.
