Phoenix Theatre Ensemble Hosts Benefit Today

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble announces that it will be hosting a benefit for GOLES (Good Old Lower East Side), the nonprofit organization that is the champion of tenants' rights and economic justice in New York's Lower East Side. The event will be today, October 10th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and will feature remarks from leading local political figures including Councilwoman Rosie Mendez, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, and State Senator Brad Hoylman.

The real estate market in the East Village, LOISAIDA, and Lower East Side is booming, and many long term residents and arts organizations are struggling to maintain residence in this transitioning community. GOLES, a neighborhood housing and preservation organization that has served the Lower East Side of Manhattan since 1977, continues its efforts to guard the rights of these residents.
