Pembroke Pines Theatre of the Performing Arts Holds Auditions for THE MIKADO, 4/13 & 4/14
The Pembroke Pines Theatre of the Performing Arts Audition information for our 2010 summer show, Mikado. Audition Dates: Tuesday, April 13th & Wednesday, April 14th at 6:30pm. Callbacks if needed, will be on April 19th.

Auditions Will Be Held At: Susan B. Katz Theater at the River of Grass ArtsPark 17195 Sheridan Street - Pembroke Pines, Florida
PPTOPA is a non-profit, community based, theatrical organization and actors are NOT compensated for appearances
Character Breakdown:
Ko-Ko - Patter baritone 30-60. Comic timing a must. The little tailor
condemned to death for flirting. Engaged to winsome school girl yum-yum.
Pooh-Bah- Baritone 30's to 60's -lord high everything else.
Pish tush -Baritone 30 to 60- a nobleman loyal to ko ko.
Go-To - bass baritone. Also a nobleman participates in second act quartet
Nanki Poo - tenor 20's to late 30's - wandering minstrel (second trombone in
traveling band ) who is really the son of the mikado
The Mikado - Bass baritone 40 to 59 - Emperor of Japan.
Yum Yum - Soprano 20 to 30 -betrothed to Ko Ko in love with Nanki Poo.
Pitti Sing - mezzo 20 to 30 - friend of yum yum mezzo
Peep Bo - soprano 20 to 30 - friend of yum yum
Katisha - Mezzo-Contralto - 30's to 60's. Spurned wife to be of Nanki Poo.
Formidable woman, presents hard as steel and very tough, but soft inner soul
which comes out in end. Strong acting a must. Strong voice prerequisite 2
intense songs, several chorus' and one comic turn late in show.
