Paramount Announces 'Grease: The Game' For Wii

CNet.com is reporting that Paramount Pictures has announced that 505 Games will develop a Grease video game for the Wii.

Paramount says players will "sing and dance alongside Danny, Sandy, The Pink Ladies, and the T-Birds." John Kavanagh the senior VP of video games for Paramount said "Grease is the ideal opportunity to reach a broad gaming audience who love to sing, dance, and have fun with a party-style game."

A tentative release date is set for September.

Grease premiered on Broadway in 1971, the production was nominated for 7 Tony Awards incuding Best Musical. Two Broadway revivals have been staged in 1994 and 2007. In 1978 the show was adapted to the screen with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.
