PERISTALIS (look it up!) a dark comic jazz riff written and performed by Jerry Finkelstein will be performed as part of the New York International Fringe Festival at The White Box at 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette Street, off of Astor Place. Performances will be today, August 16 at 3:45 pm, Tuesday, August 19th at 5 pm, Thursday, August 21st and 9:15 pm and Saturday, August 23rd at 7:00 pm.

Pain, it sucks! (Been there?) Pain is a terrorist but it has never been funnier. From Monet to jelly doughnuts, this jazz riff performance will certainly tickle your fancy. This new piece is about the secret of surviving excruciating pain. After a ruptured disc, Jerry Finkelstein engages in a series of reveries that explore everything from an MRI, where the technician morphs into a terrorist, to pain-induced paranoia, that convinces him that the devil is behind the 'jelly' on his nerve. There is a jazz saxophone, scat singing and a surprise around every corner.

PERISTALIS (look it up!) is directed by Cecilia Rubino with lighting deisgn by Burke Brown, and sound design by Fernando Arruda.

Jerry Finkelstein has co- written Six Feet is Deeper than you Think with CraigMcNulty and Three with Sauerkraut. He is the author of the young adult novel Dog Days of Summer. As a musician, he has played at 5C Café, The Duplex and Theater for a New City. He is a psychologist and is currently the Director of The New School Counseling Services.

Tickets are priced at $18.00 and can be ordered on line through www.fringenyc.org/.
