Street Theatre Company of Nashville, TN announces four encore performances of Parallel Lives: The Kathy and Mo Show, back by popular demand, Upstairs at Bongo Java (2007 Belmont Blvd), September 10-13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

Parallel Lives is based on the stand-up comedy of Obie Award winners, Kathy Najimy (Sister Act) and Mo Gaffney (That 70’s Show, Mad About You).  Throughout the course of the evening, two actresses - Holly Allen and Cathy Sanborn Street - embody nearly thirty different characters from Jersey teenagers to country western bar flies to celestial beings postulating whether the man or woman should be lucky enough to give birth.

Jeffery Ellis of Broadwayworld.com writes, “The humor is woman-centric, just as it is liberal leaning, but the subjects broached and the methods to the madness are so affectionately rendered that any man, woman or transgender person could be rolling on the floor or, at the very least, guffawing loudly. Only the permanently humor-impaired would be unable to find a whole lot to laugh about - even cheer about - in this warmly produced and acted show. Allen and Street are both so likable and so completely fearless onstage that it lifts both the production and the audience to unexpected heights.” For a sneak peek, visit www.youtube.com/streettheatreco.

Producer Cathy Street says, “We had so many people ask to bring back Parallel Lives so we are excited to be able to make that happen with four encore performances Upstairs at Bongo Java. We hope to meet the demands of those people who wanted to experience this gut busting comedy again and share it for the first time with new audiences.”
