Origins of Punk Discussion Set for the Met Museum, 6/16
Sunday at the Met: A Conversation on the Origins of Punk will be held on Sunday, June 16, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Explore the evolution of punk as a tale of two cities, from New York's clubs to London's streets in the 1970s, via a conversation between two documenters of the scene - punk photographer Roberta Bayley and punk historian/music journalist Jon Savage (who wrote the introduction to the exhibition catalogue, Punk: Chaos to Couture, as well as England's Dreaming), moderated by writer and GQ Style Guy, Glenn O'Brien.
This program is held in conjunction with The Costume Institute exhibition Punk: Chaos to Couture, which is on view at the Met through August 14, 2013. This event is free with museum admission.
