Origins of Punk Discussion Set for the Met Museum, 6/16

By:

Sunday at the Met: A Conversation on the Origins of Punk will be held on Sunday, June 16, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Explore the evolution of punk as a tale of two cities, from New York's clubs to London's streets in the 1970s, via a conversation between two documenters of the scene - punk photographer Roberta Bayley and punk historian/music journalist Jon Savage (who wrote the introduction to the exhibition catalogue, Punk: Chaos to Couture, as well as England's Dreaming), moderated by writer and GQ Style Guy, Glenn O'Brien.

This program is held in conjunction with The Costume Institute exhibition Punk: Chaos to Couture, which is on view at the Met through August 14, 2013.

This event is free with museum admission. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located at Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street. The event will take place in the The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium.
